Well, here’s the thing, Scott… I don’t know about you, but when i go to type up a web address I generally don’t bother typing up the www on the front. This becomes a problem when idiots who don’t know better, like ANZ (anz.com.au) for example, _require_ you to put in the WWW. It’s annoying and redundant, and while the idea of putting more emphasis on not using the ‘www’ might not necessarily be important, I think making me type an extra 4 characters on every web site I go to (And for what?) is a silly idea.

…On that note so is having http://www.techtoucian.net and techtoucian.net deliver the same content… I don’t understand that bit at all. It just means Google indexes everything twice.

Hmm.. you can set Apache to just accept WWW as like default subdomain… I know how todo it under Plesk, but no idea about the actual configuration of Apache.

www is so oldhat, i think sites look much "cleaner" without double-ya-double-ya-double-ya on the front!!

There probably really isn’t that much of a problem, it’s just annoying having to shell to http://www.tatey.com.

Still, once you’ve tried decent domain management you’ll never go back unless you don’t like it.

my domain name register doesn’t let me point domain names without the www. to my dynamic ip. My site is still accessible from the non-www so I don’t see the problem
